Oddworld: Soulstorm - PS4

Join the Revolution!

Set directly after the events of 2014's Oddworld: New ‘N’ Tasty, Oddworld: Soulstorm is the second game in Abe’s heroic new epic.

Soulstorm combines intense action-adventure platformer gameplay with a twisted tale of a society on the brink of revolution, where your moment to moment in-game choices will impact its outcome and there is more than one possible ending to experience.

A revolution needs a leader. A leader needs followers. You will help guide Abe on his journey to save them all. Along the way, you face nearly impossible odds in a massive 2.9D world where death is the most likely outcome. Every moment is another choice between raining down brute force upon your oppressors or executing stealth manoeuvres to avoid detection.

You will face off against a profiteering class armed with a sinister plan that threatens the very existence of an enslaved species. Scavenge for ingredients to cook up powerful weaponry and arm your followers to help in the fight.

Keep in mind, the more you save, the better the outcome. If you have what it takes, you might even be able to unlock hidden playable levels. And, you might have what it takes to lead a revolution and achieve leader board status.

• Action-Adventure Platformer
Evolving the platforming genre by adding RPG-lite elements with player agency to play as they like, whether aggressively or passively.
• Narrative
A dark storyline with a twisted sense of humor that shines a light on the ironies that exist in the human condition.
• 2.9D
Epic environments with massive scale to explore by going into the world, rather than being limited to the traditional side scrolling platformer sense.
• Quarma (think Karma)
Quarma is a real time feedback feature that reflects your actions in the game and your actions will influence the outcome of the game.
• Scavenger's Economy
Pickpocket enemies, loot lockers, sift through trash cans to acquire resources. Exchange them at vending machines to get products that give you more agency in how you chose to conquer the game's many challenges.
• Crafting
Use scavenged resources and vending machine products to craft items to use as weapons or tools against characters and obstacles.
• Strength in Numbers
The more followers you save, the stronger the uprising becomes. Gift crafted items to followers. It's up to you to decide whether they will be aggressive or passive.
