Mario Kart World - Nintendo Switch 2

Mario Kart World is the biggest Mario Kart game in series history, launching exclusively for Nintendo Switch 2 on June 5. For the first time in the series, the game features a fully interconnected world where you can drive anywhere — across cities, plains, deserts and even the ocean — with dynamic weather, a day/night cycle, and roads linking every course together.

• Up to 24 racers compete simultaneously in Grand Prix and Knockout Tour — a series record
• Grand Prix now includes driving between courses as part of the race itself, across cups including Mushroom, Flower, Star and more
• Knockout Tour runs non-stop from one end of the world to the other — miss a checkpoint and you're out
• Free Roam lets you explore the world, find hidden coins, trigger P Switch missions, take in-game photos and warp to friends anywhere on the map
• Battle Mode includes Coin Runners and Balloon Battle; eliminate a rival by popping all their balloons
• New techniques include Charge Jump, wall-riding, rail grinding, and a Rewind function in Free Roam and single-player
• New items: Coin Shell, Ice Flower, Hammer, Mega Mushroom, Feather and Kamek's transformation magic
• Drive-Thru Dash Food at Yoshi's delivers speed boosts and unlockable outfits
• Additional modes: Time Trials with online ghost data, VS Race with team and ruleset customisation
• Accessibility options include Smart Steering, Auto-Accelerate and Tilt Controls
• Up to 4 players split-screen on one system; local wireless supports up to 8 players (max 2 per Nintendo Switch 2 system)
• GameChat supported via Nintendo Switch 2 built-in microphone; no Nintendo Switch Online membership required for GameChat until March 31, 2026 — membership required after that date
• Nintendo Switch 2 Camera (sold separately) required for CameraPlay face detection features; detects up to 4 faces locally on a single camera
• Joy-Con 2 Wheel accessory compatible (sold separately, available as a set of two)
• Online features require Nintendo Switch Online membership (sold separately), Nintendo Account and internet access; not available in all countries
• Also available as a Nintendo Switch 2 hardware bundle including a full game download code

Whether you're racing solo, playing split-screen locally or competing online with up to 24 players, this is the Nintendo Switch 2 launch title built to go the distance.
