Crystar puts you in control of Rei Hatada, a girl who strikes a deal with a devil in limbo to resurrect her dead younger sister, Mirai. As she fights the drifting souls of the afterlife, the weight of her choices shapes who she becomes — literally. Defeating specific enemies triggers Danmatsuma Thoughts, and by crying to purify them, Rei grows mentally and unlocks powerful weapons known as Shisou (Mental Armor).
